WHAT'S NEW? Hi Folks, thanks for visiting my page! This month, I am releasing my first short music film in collaboration with Remo Notarianni who is as an award winning film maker and writer. This film is based around my original song Living Out Rough was originally produced by Graeme Holdaway and I recorded it at Sky Production studios in Hong Kong. I also have created a podcast with Remo about his work in Asia and Europe and he shares why he calls Hong Kong, a perfect film set! Check out our podcast below.

CREATIVE PROCESS: "Most of my work has been recorded live in different studios around the world, as a result I have just re-released 5 albums and one single independently of a record label. I have spent a lot of time scribbling lyrics, jamming out chords into a tape recorder. Nobody actually taught me to songwrite but I was immersed around a lot of music, so it felt very natural to be creating my own songs. I get a kick out of turning up at random places throughout the world and songwriting. Getting lost in a new place is often my muse. I was so lucky to have had Graeme Holdaway as my sound engineer and producer for many of my albums. I hope you will enjoy my music, as much as I do creating it!"

ABOUT: Jane Nicola Douglas is a Soul-Folk Artist from the UK. She is also the Producer of Jane Nicola Soundvibe podcast founded May 2022 and is currently based in Shanghai, China. Jane Nicola has previously lived in the countries of the UK, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. Jane Nicola's 5th independently released album 'Railtrack’ (2018) was produced by Graeme Holdaway in the UK and recorded at Sky Production studios in Hong Kong. She initially began songwriting as a young child, performing at local events in the Southwest of the UK, she recorded her first album "Stacey J. Douglas" in London (1996). Later Jane Nicola moved to Asia and she continued to record her work in Singapore and Hong Kong. Jane Nicola undertook a Popular Music Degree at Middlesex University, London, followed by a Masters Degree in Music Therapy, Cambridge. Initially trained as a classical guitarist by Pat Benham, she later began to delve into compositional and improvisational styles, as well as exploring song-writing. Jane Nicola also specialises in early years music education and has taught in Singapore, China and Hong Kong. Jane Nicola officially changed her artist name from Stacey-Jane Douglas to Jane Nicola Douglas in 2016.
